Sportscup Lausitz - Successful Weekend for SPS
The fourth run of the Porsche Sportscup 2009 on the Euro Speedway in Lausitz was very successful for the SPS drivers. Nerijus and Nemunas Dagilis started with a Porsche GT3 Cup each in the Super Sportscup. Nemunas Dagilis started with a model of 2008 and Nerijus with a model of 2007. During the qualifying Nerijus Dagilis (starting number 54) reached starting position 22 in the total ranking or rather place 14 in his class. Nemunas Dagilis reached place 18 in the total ranking and place 4 in his class. At the first sprinting race Nemunas was able to overtake to an excellent place 14 after that his car had a spin in the starting round. This meant place 2 in his class 5d. At the second race Nemunas started, corresponding to the finish of the first race, and he could improve on place 10 immediately at the start. At the end he had to be satisfied with the 11thplace in the total ranking. However, this was the victory in the class 5d. Therefore Nemunas Dagilis was able to return two cups this weekend. Nerijus Dagilis could improve from place 22 to place 16 at the first race with lap times getting throughout faster. At the second run Nerijus was able to improve again from place 16 to place 14. In his class 5c he came therefore onto place 12 at the first run and place 10 at the second run. Nerijus Dagilis could better again his round times by 8/10 seconds moderately at the second run. Greg Ross who normally is represented in the GT3 Cup Challenge and Endurance, could not start in Lausitz because of illness. |
